Certain facts are NOT in dispute.
Cuddy's character has been written dreadfully since at least season 4. I have issues with the baby stuff going back to S3, but thought the scenes with House giving her the injections were well done. However, the fake back-story and the general meanness displayed by Cuddy in Seasons 5 and 6 were a prime example of character assassination.
If you want to express hatred for Cuddy based on her actions toward House, this might make sense.
It's abundantly clear that the writers played a very deliberate shell-game with the H/W fans in Seasons 5 & 6, blatantly so, in Season 6.
It's possible to hate the fact that they finished Season 6 with making House/Cuddy emotional canon with implications of the physical, as well as wanting to puke at the idea of the couple in any kind of a sentimental, schmoopy-oopy, curtain-buying relationship. You might have that reaction either because it seems incredibly out of character for both House and Cuddy and/or because you believe that House and Wilson ARE canon or you're a subtext shipper who believes that their emotional bond is so strong that no other relationship has a chance.
I'm completely on board with all those reactions.
BUT....writing fic to show how wrong H/Cuddy are as a couple, in a way that doesn't SOUND or LOOK or FEEL like anything that House or Cuddy would actually say? Not so much.
I think there are wonderful, angsty, in-character, perfectly valid fics that might show Cuddy and/or House in a negative light. They are both extremely flawed characters. I honestly believe that any kind of relationship is going to bring out the worst in them and cause them to hurt each other almost as much as House and Wilson do. By all means, write those stories and I might gobble them up. IF House and Cuddy SOUND like House and Cuddy and IF the problems that come up in the fic reflect the real problems that we've seen and heard about for the past 6 years.
Making up problems that have nothing to do with anything that's ever occurred in canon, is a good way to get me to not read your fic and not leave comments on your fic. House and Cuddy have a very real, painful history. That's what you can use to make them miserable. Making up shit just to make Cuddy look bad? NOT COOL.
It's NOT Lisa Edelstein's fault. Hey, I have my own history of bitching out self-aggrandizing performers, and I agree, she's given some interviews that made me feel she wanted Cuddy in a H/Cuddy relationship, because it was the best way to get her character more time on screen and maybe because she (like most of us) thinks Hugh Laurie is hot.
HOWEVER, she didn't write the scripts. She's not the performer who's getting an Exec Producer credit these days.
So whatever vitriol you feel needs to be aimed at TPTB or the fictional characters is hunky-dory, but the minute you start in on Lisa E, I start smelling a very ugly melange of Butthurt Slashing and Misogyny. It ain't pretty. (Said as a hard-core, tin-hatted H/W shipper.)
BONUS BONUS RANT!!!!
SMUSHNAMES SUCK!!! Whether you're using them to deride, applaud or describe a pairing, they still suck. They make you look like an idiot. Stop it. Either use H/W H/Cuddy or spell it out. House/Wilson House/Cuddy, House/Cameron, House/Chase, House/Weird Night Janitor, etc.
The extra key-strokes won't kill you and you will look less like an idiot.
