Day 02 - A film that is underrated
Murder, My Sweet-1944
This movie lives in the shadow of The Big Sleep-1946, and Dick Powell's performance as Marlowe, which was a revelation at the time, is now considered inferior to Humphrey Bogart's. I LOVE The Big Sleep and I LOVE Bogart's Marlowe, BUT I think Powell is almost better, especially in drugged scene, and this is one of the best film noirs ever. Claire Trevor's performance is as good as almost any noir femme fatale you can name. Really a great film and don't forget the awesome Mike Mazurki. Directed by Edward Dmytryk.
